Prince of Wales
![]()
The ‘Prince of Wales’ room is the largest of the four Royal Salons, named both to commemorate the visit of HRH Prince Charles en route to his investiture as Prince of Wales, and after his predecessor Edward, Prince of Wales (affectionately known as ‘Bertie’), the eldest son of Queen Victoria, who had a close association with Ruthin Castle over many years and became King Edward VII.
This is the finest room in the castle, lavishly designed and delivering drama, grandeur and extravagance to all guests. The stylish centre piece is a stunning, raised king-sized bed surrounded by antique furniture pieces – an original carved wood open fireplace, pictures of both Prince of Wales’ and a majestic iron candelabra hanging from the high ceiling complete the decadent theme. Grand bay windows offer magnificent views overlooking the castle park and woodland.
Modern in-room comforts blend seamlessly alongside, including a flat screen television and WiFi internet access. An impressive screened area hides a luxurious double ‘bath to share’ surrounded by leather surfaces, cushions, mirrored walls, another flat-screen TV and side space reserved for Champagne. There is also a separate walk-in shower room.
