THE BRIDAL SUITE at Ruthin Castle

The Prince of Wales is The Castle's largest and most individual 'bed chamber' - occupying the whole floor of a tower and named in recognition of The Castle's historic connections with the title 'Prince of Wales'.

King Edward I who built Ruthin Castle was responsible for tracking down and executing the last Prince of Wales to independently rule Wales. Centuries later, Edward, Prince of Wales ('Bertie' to his close family, and later King Edward VII), the eldest son of Queen Victoria became a frequent visitor to The Castle - which was dubbed the heart of Edwardian Society outside London. In modern times HRH Prince Charles stayed at The Castle on his way to his Investiture as Prince of Wales.
