Meet the Wedding Co-Ordinator!

Jodie Kinsella, Weddings & Events Manager

My name is Jodie, I am one of the wedding coordinators here at Ruthin Castle. I live with my fiance, our daughter and our Labrador, Harley. I originally started my events career working as a wedding singer! I loved being a part of weddings all over the world and arrived at Ruthin early 2022. I love it here at the castle and there is nothing better than seeing our couples faces light up when they see the venue for the first time.

There are so many moments that make our weddings memorable – but a moment that really stuck with me, HAS to be the time the entire ceremony erupted with laughter when a peacock decided to steal the show. The registrar had just asked the question ‘does anyone object?’ and one of our peacocks decided to make the loudest peacock noise you have ever heard right at the end of the aisle! It took about 5 minutes for the laughter to stop between the bride, groom and EVERYONE ELSE. They said it made their day so special and it is a moment they will forever cherish…but honestly the laughter just never stopped.

My top tip for planning your wedding is be kind to yourself. I promise, you aren’t the only person to not know where to begin – planning a wedding isnt something you do every day and you can’t be expected to know everything straight away. Enjoy the process and make use of the team there to help you.

Ruthin Castle is honestly a dream venue. It is one of the reasons I chose to work here, I fell in love with the amount of history, the stunning grounds and the diverse wildlife…and the wedding spaces are incomparable to anything else I’ve ever seen.

The best part of my job is seeing it all come together, watching our happy couples enjoy the best day of their lives surrounded by the people they love…there is no better feeling.

If you are engaged, I would love to invite you to see the castle and have a chat over a cup of tea – you won’t be disappointed!
